Who could deny that the Hungarian women are the most beautiful in the world? Of course, even Hungarian female swimmers are attractive, so we collected the sexiest 4+1 of them in this article. Warning! The compilation below is highly subjective.
1. Boglárka Kapás
Born on 22 April 1993, she is already the world champion (2019 Gwangju) in 200 m butterfly and a bronze medalist at the Olympic Games (2016 Rio de Janeiro) in 800 m freestyle.
Interestingly, even though Hungary is regarded to perform well in swimming, she won the country’s first-ever gold medal at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in 200 m butterfly. In the 2012 European Aquatics Championships of Debrecen (Hungary), she won the 800m freestyle event.
2. Zsuzsanna Jakabos
Ms Jakabos was born in 1989, and she competed at 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympics in seven events in total with the best achievement of sixth place in the 4×200 m freestyle relay in 2008 and 2016.
Meanwhile, at the 2016 European Aquatics Championships, she won her first gold medal in the 4×200 m freestyle relay. In August 2017, she married her trainer, Iván Petrov.
3. Dalma Sebestyén
Born in 1997, Ms Sebestyén has already taken part in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where she competed in the women’s 200-metre breaststroke event. She is the professional swimmer of GyÅ‘r Úszó SE in Hungary.
She said in a 2016 interview that jumping in the water is like arriving home and the teammates are like family to her. She regularly wakes up at 5 am, but it is worth it when you win a competition – she told then. Ms Sebestyén also added that her role model is Krisztina Egerszegi who is a three-time Olympian (1988, 1992 and 1996) and five-time Olympic champion; and one of three individuals (Dawn Fraser and Michael Phelps being the other two) to have ever won the same swimming event at three consecutive Summer Olympics. Furthermore, Ms Egerszegi is currently also the only female swimmer who won five individual Olympic gold medals.
4. Liliána Szilágyi
She is the daughter of three-time Olympian and former freestyle swimmer Zoltán Szilágyi (1988, 1992, and 2000). Specialised in butterfly events, she started to swim at the age of 8. At the 2012 European Junior Swimming Championships in Antwerp, she collected two medals (gold and silver) in the 100 and 200 m butterfly. Today she is a member of the Ferencváros swimming team and announced in October last years that she was going to prepare for the next summer Olympics with Shane Tusup, former husband and trainer of Katinka Hosszú who is one of the most successful Hungarian swimmers ever.
+1 Ajna Késely
Ms Késely is a Hungarian competitive swimmer who specialises in freestyle. At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, she won a gold medal in the 200, 400 and 800 m freestyle event. At the 2018 European Championships, she received two silver and one bronze medals in 400, 800 and 1,500m freestyle.
She holds two Hungarian records in swimming, the 400 and the 1,500m freestyle with 4:01.31 and 16:04.13.
